High Roller Championship Update

The High Roller Championship at KSOP GGPoker Iguazú is nearing its conclusion, with 11 players remaining in contention for the title. The tournament attracted 78 entries with a R$ 15,000 buy-in, surpassing its guaranteed prize pool. Colombian Carlos Serrano leads the final 11 players with 1,310,000 chips, aiming for another victory in Puerto Iguazú after already winning the Super High Roller at this festival.

Mariano Jimenez is close behind in second place with 1,280,000 chips, followed by the 2023 champion Ramon Pessoa in third with 1,070,000. Other notable players advancing to the final day include Mateus Zanin, Felipe Valentim, Diego Justo, Rodolfo Tanaka, Paulo Silva, Luciano Cabral, Eder Ferronato, and Marcos Sketch. With the bubble burst, all remaining players are guaranteed at least R$ 28,000, with the eventual champion set to win R$ 270,000. The final day's play is scheduled to resume at 2 PM local time.

Deep Stack Champion Crowned

Thiago Torati, an ambassador for the circuit, emerged as the winner of the Deep Stack tournament. After experiencing some difficult eliminations and bad beats the previous day, Torati entered the R$ 1,000 buy-in event and overcame a field of 73 entries to secure the title and R$ 15,000 in prize money.

Torati reflected on the importance of perseverance after tough sessions. "You come with an expectation, do well in an event, get a good run, your expectation stays high, thinking: 'ITM is guaranteed.' Then things happen, but I won't dwell on it. What we believe is that we understand the game and have to keep playing," he stated. "You can only win a tournament if you keep going. If you say: 'I'm not playing today because I'm down,' then it gets complicated. Depending on how bad you're feeling, you have to keep going, because only those who keep going get there. Only those who keep going can win a tournament."

He also recounted a crucial hand during the bubble phase where he managed to build a significant stack after winning a key all-in against the table's chip leader. Torati held AK against AA in a large pot, hitting a king on the flop and river to secure a substantial chip lead.

The final table of the Deep Stack included André Ribeiro in second place (R$ 10,250) and Rodrigo Carvalho in third (R$ 7,330).

This news from the KSOP GGPoker Iguazú festival highlights successful tournament play and significant prize pool distributions, relevant to players interested in major poker events and competitive poker results.
