Poker Dream is heading back to its home base at Resorts World Genting in Malaysia for the 26th edition of its live tournament series. Scheduled for October 8-19, Poker Dream Malaysia 26 will feature a MYR 4 million guaranteed Main Event, alongside 59 other tournaments spread across 12 days.

The series has become a regular fixture on the Asian live poker calendar since its launch in July 2022, running multiple stops each year at the Genting Highlands resort. The October edition follows Poker Dream 25, which concluded at the same venue in early August.

MYR 4 million Main Event and guaranteed tournaments

The headline tournament, Event #38, carries a MYR 4,000,000 guarantee, roughly equivalent to $1 million. This matches the guarantee Poker Dream offered at its July 2026 stop, though it falls below the MYR 5,000,000 guarantee that headlined the October 2025 edition. Players can enter the Main Event across multiple Day 1 flights, with buy-ins scaling up to MYR 4,800 for the highest-tier flight.

Six other guaranteed events run alongside the Main Event, creating a full schedule of marquee tournaments. The buy-in range across the entire series stretches from MYR 800 satellites up to a MYR 20,000 Super High Roller, more than four times the cost of the most expensive Main Entry flight.

Mixed games and high roller track

Beyond the no-limit hold’em Main Event, the schedule includes a range of mixed games. Players will find 7 Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo, and draw variants filling gaps in the calendar. Two Mystery Bounty events are also on the schedule, adding a popular format that has grown across live tours in recent years.

The high roller track tops out at the MYR 20,000 Super High Roller, creating a separate competition for players seeking higher-stakes action. Each event on the schedule follows Poker Dream’s standard flight structure, with starting stacks scaling according to the buy-in level.

Bubble protection and early bird packages

Poker Dream is offering bubble protection for the first 100 Main Event entrants. This applies across every Day 1 flight, giving early-registering players insurance against being the last eliminated before the money. Those same 100 players also receive a chance at two $1,000 prizes in Poker Dream 27 tournament credit through a random draw.

Four early bird packages are available until September 30. Most are capped by player count, so early registration is advisable for players planning to attend. The packages include hotel discounts covering rooms at First World Hotel, RW Hotel, Highlands Hotel, and Antara Genting.

Player of the Year implications

Results from Genting Highlands count toward Poker Dream’s season-long Player of the Year race. For the 2026 season, the tour added Ladies and Regional titles alongside the flagship DPOY standings. This means points earned during Malaysia 26 contribute not just to prize pools but also to these year-end leaderboards.

The series runs through October 19, closing one of Genting Highlands’ busiest stretches of the year. After that, Poker Dream will move to its next stop on the 2026 calendar.

Why this matters for video poker and strategy readers

For players focused on video poker and poker strategy, Poker Dream Malaysia 26 offers a live tournament schedule that complements video poker play. The mixed game events provide opportunities to practice Omaha and Stud variants, which share strategic principles with video poker hand analysis. The early bird packages and hotel discounts also reduce the cost of attending, making the series accessible to recreational players looking to transition from online video poker to live tournament play.

Players planning to attend should note the September 30 early bird deadline and consider which Day 1 flight fits their schedule and bankroll. The bubble protection for the first 100 Main Event entrants adds value for those who register early.
