Bohuai Jiang, a player who found his poker home at The Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas, has achieved his first significant tournament victory, triumphing in the 2026 RunGood Summer Series (RGPS) $600 Main Event. Jiang took home a career-best prize of $55,416 after a hard-fought final table.

The journey to the title was not one Jiang had extensive experience with, as he primarily focused on cash games since beginning his poker endeavors in 2023. However, after bagging a stack on the final flight of the Main Event, he entered Day 2 among 71 returning players. The path to victory required nearly 12 hours of play, culminating in Jiang collecting all the chips.

Por que importa

“I don’t have much tournament experience,” Jiang shared with PokerNews post-victory. “I have been playing cash for a few years and I’m pretty new. It feels very good, it gives me more confidence. I feel like I need to learn more, and hopefully can play more poker tournaments.”

The RGPS Summer Series Main Event drew 582 entries, surpassing its guarantee to create a prize pool of $292,746. Jiang, initially positioned in the bottom third of the leaderboard on Day 2, steadily climbed by navigating eliminations and maintaining patience.

Contexto

“I was waiting for them to bust, playing passively. Yeah, it went pretty well,” Jiang explained about his strategy during the earlier stages of the day.

A special RunGood bonus added an extra layer of excitement for the final contenders. Players participated in a Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) high hand flip for a $2,000 RunGood travel package to Aruba. Jiang, admitting limited knowledge of PLO, was unaware he had won until informed by the dealer. “I don’t know much about PLO, so I didn’t even realize I had straight and I had nuts. So the dealer had to tell me that. At that point I felt like I was lucky today, and yeah, it gave me some kind of hint.”

The pivotal moment of the tournament occurred during four-handed play. Jiang four-bet all-in with pocket jacks and held against pocket tens, seizing a commanding chip lead. This hand marked the point where Jiang allowed himself to envision winning the trophy. “When I had jacks over tens, I was thinking about winning,” he recalled.

Following this significant double-up, Jiang adjusted his play, leveraging his substantial chip advantage. He proceeded to win five or six consecutive pots, including the elimination of Jared Wolfe in fourth place. Jeffrey Nowling followed in third, leaving Jiang with a two-thirds chip advantage entering heads-up play against Benjamin Anderson.

Although Anderson managed to equalize the stacks at one point, Jiang quickly re-established his lead. The final hand saw Jiang’s pocket jacks once again prevail, this time against Anderson’s hand, to secure the championship.
