Nine Brazilians Advance to Day 2B of WSOP Seniors Championship

Nine Brazilian players have secured their spots on Day 2B of the US$ 1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The event, which drew a massive field, saw these players successfully advance through the initial stages, with some building significant chip stacks.

Brazilian Standouts

Adalberto Siqueira and Nilson Pascoal emerged as the top performers among the Brazilian contingent on Day 1. Siqueira bagged 212,500 chips, while Pascoal finished with 175,500. Both players ended the day with stacks exceeding 100 big blinds, placing them within the top 100 players overall.

Other Brazilians who made the cut include José Zagury (100,000 chips), Juan Testoni (66,500), Ingracia Oliveira (51,500), Luiz Alcantara (50,500), Renato Puertas (38,500), Marco Soares (38,000), and Claudio Kalil (35,000). These players will return for Day 2B of the tournament.

Massive Field for Seniors Championship

The US$ 1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship attracted a substantial 7,538 entries across its two starting flights. Out of these, 898 players advanced from Day 1B alone. The overall chip leader heading into the next stage is Andrew Rosen, who accumulated an impressive 363,000 chips on Tuesday.

Tournament Schedule

Day 2B of Event #46 is scheduled to commence on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Day 2A was still in progress on Tuesday and had not yet concluded. All surviving players will converge for Day 3 on Thursday, June 18. Day 2B play will begin at 3 PM Brasília time, with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and a big blind ante.

The WSOP has been a stage for significant achievements in recent days. Brazilian poker player Yuri Dzivielevski recently secured his sixth WSOP bracelet by winning the US$ 100,000 Super High Roller, earning a career-best prize of US$ 2.841.432. In another high-profile event, Adrian Mateos clinched his sixth WSOP bracelet in the US$ 250,000 Super High Roller.
