The 57th World Series of Poker (WSOP) has crowned its champions for the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Tag Team Event, with Brazil’s Breno Drumond and Henrique Lessa emerging victorious. The duo took home the top prize of $184,769 after a hard-fought competition that saw 100 teams competing for the coveted gold bracelets.

The event, held from June 24-26 at the Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas, attracted a diverse field of poker players looking to team up and compete for WSOP glory. The tournament format allowed for strategic partnerships, adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.

Brazilian Dominance

While the top prize eluded European teams, several players from the German-speaking (DACH) region managed to cash in the event. Manuel Fischer and Robert Belej were the last remaining DACH team, ultimately finishing in 20th place and earning $6,463. Other DACH teams, including Marcus Wagner and Fabio Franchini (194th, $2,001), Max Kruse and Jens Ullrich (115th, $2,184), Ivo Donev and Oliver Bosch (69th, $3,016), and Damien Berthiaud and Philippe Schmuz (46th, $3,906), also made it into the money.
