Cosmo’s Corner Store Opening and Durango Food Hall Changes Signal Shifts on the Vegas Strip and Beyond
The Corner Store from New York’s SoHo opens at the Cosmopolitan on Nov. 9, while Durango Casino & Resort closes three underperforming food hall outlets. Here’s what these moves mean for Vegas visitors and video poker players.

A new dining option arrives on the Las Vegas Strip next month, while a suburban casino resort trims its food hall lineup. Both moves reflect ongoing shifts in how Las Vegas properties manage their restaurant offerings — changes that matter to anyone planning a video poker trip to the city.
The Corner Store, a SoHo restaurant operated by Catch Hospitality Group, opens at the Cosmopolitan on Nov. 9. This marks the first location outside New York for the brand, which is led by billionaire Tilman Fertitta — currently in the process of purchasing Caesars Entertainment — and Eugene Remm. The restaurant takes over the former Blue Ribbon American Grill & Oyster Bar space on the resort’s third floor. Reservations are already available.
Por que importa
The menu features “elevated American classics,” including Lobster & Caviar Rolls, Five Cheese Pizza Rolls, The Corner Store Caesar, and a Wagyu French Dip made with 72-hour slow-roasted ribeye. An expanded steak program called the Butcher’s Counter adds cuts such as Rosewood Ranch Wagyu Tomahawk and Wagyu Porterhouse, along with crudos, salads and shared plates. Chef Michael Vignola oversees the culinary program, with Las Vegas executive chef Daniel Bernardo, who previously worked with Vignola at Catch Steak New York. The restaurant was designed by Rockwell Group and includes a main bar, a dedicated Martini Room, a dining room inspired by vintage train cars, and a private dining room for up to 24 guests. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to late.

At the same time, Durango Casino & Resort is closing three underperforming tenants of its Eat Your Heart Out food hall. Uncle Paulie’s, the L.A. deli-inspired concept, closed Sept. 30 and will host pop-ups until a replacement is selected. Yu-Or-Mi Sushi and both Vesta Coffee Roasters locations — in the food hall and the lobby — will close Nov. 10. All three brands opened with the casino resort on Dec. 5, 2023. No replacements have been named yet.
Contexto
The closures come as Station Casinos plans development on the casino’s northern side. The expansion will add a larger food hall, luxury movie theaters, a bowling venue, and a second location of the San Diego country-themed nightlife concept Moonshine Flats. For video poker players who frequent Durango for its smoke-free gaming area and modern machine selection, the changes mean fewer immediate dining choices but signal a larger entertainment complex in the works.
Las Vegas was recently ranked eighth best city in WalletHub’s 2026 analysis of 182 U.S. cities. The study evaluated cities on diversity, accessibility, quality of food options, and affordability, using data from federal agencies, nonprofit research groups, and travel platforms. Las Vegas’ placement reflects its broad mix of dining options, from long-running steakhouses and buffets to fine-dining venues and specialty concepts.
The Corner Store opening gives Strip visitors a new pre- or post-play dining option at a resort known for its video poker bar tops and high-limit slots area. For Durango regulars, the food hall changes are a short-term inconvenience that may lead to a better long-term amenity package. Both stories are worth watching for anyone who plans their Vegas trips around where to eat between video poker sessions.
