The KSOP GGPoker Iguazú festival buzzed with activity on Saturday, featuring a variety of tournaments, including the highly anticipated Ladies Event. Amidst a field of 27 entries, Rafaela Lescano from Jardim (MS) emerged as the champion, capturing her first trophy in the competition and earning a prize of R$ 4,500.

A Special Trip

Lescano's victory was made even more memorable as she traveled to Puerto Iguazú with her sister and a friend, both of whom also achieved success during the event. An emotional Lescano shared her joy, highlighting the shared experience. "I'm so happy, first of all, because I participated with my sister and my friend, my friend also got a trophy, and this is my second time participating in the KSOP. I didn't have any trophies, so I'm very happy," she stated.

The Final Table Dynamics

The final table presented a unique dynamic for Lescano, who competed against players including Isabella Oliveira, Thaline Noronha, Valeria Dilascio, and Cleide Sobrinho. The possibility of a "homegrown" 3-handed final table was close, with her friend Ana Lethicia finishing in third place and her sister, Karen Lescano, taking fourth.

Lescano acknowledged the role of favorable cards and opportune moments in her win. "I think I was the luckiest at the final table, but it worked out. I kept running, running, then I got to heads-up and it worked out," she commented.

Key Hands in the Heads-Up

The heads-up match against Cleide Sobrinho involved crucial all-in moments. In the first, Lescano's A5 faced Sobrinho's 74. The flop of 543 gave both players a pair, but Lescano survived with a J on the turn and a K on the river. She then quickly clinched the title in another all-in, holding A8 against Sobrinho's 92.

Future Aspirations

When asked about participating in future KSOP events, Lescano expressed her enthusiasm. "I really enjoy participating, and if I have the opportunity, definitely," she concluded.

Final Table Payouts

1st – Rafaela Lescano – R$ 4,500
2nd – Cleide Sobrinho – R$ 2,850
3rd – Ana Lethicia – R$ 1,800
4th – Karen Lescano – R$ 1,100

Other Tournament Highlights

The KSOP GGPoker Iguazú also saw other significant results on Saturday. Fábio Sanchez claimed victory in the High Roller PKO One Day, earning R$ 61,500 from a field of 15 entries. His win was propelled by a key hand at the 5-handed stage where his AQ turned into a full house, giving him a substantial chip lead.

Carlos Serrano, a prominent name in Latin American poker, continued his winning streak by securing the title in the R$ 25,000 Super High Roller. Known as "crumbs," Serrano faced a tough field of 12 players and took home R$ 130,000, solidifying his reputation in high-stakes tournaments. Serrano indicated he would focus on regional events rather than traveling to Las Vegas for the WSOP.
