Day 3 of KSOP GGPoker Fortaleza ended with two new champions at the Hotel Grand Marquise, on Beira-Mar Avenue in the Ceará capital. Jobert Mitson took down the traditional Freezeout, and José Fábio Barbosa won the Kings Turbo KO. Both players left with trophies and five-figure prizes in Brazilian reais.

According to Mitson, the format made the win especially difficult.

“The feeling is indescribable. The Freezeout was a challenge in many ways, not only because I am a player who likes to have the option of a rebuy rescue, and the Freezeout did not allow that. So I had to stay focused, keep my A-game and do my best from start to finish,” he said, in comments translated from Portuguese and reported by Mundo Poker.

He also described a tough final table where he was short-stacked for a significant stretch.

“I went through difficult situations, especially at the final table when I was very short. I had to be very patient to double up little by little and chase bigger dreams. I kept climbing the pay jumps and I am very happy,” Mitson said.

Barbosa takes Kings Turbo KO
