Brazilian poker player Pedro Cavalieri turned a runner-up finish into the biggest cash of the final three in GGPoker’s US$ 1,050 GGMasters High Rollers on Sunday. According to Mundo Poker, Cavalieri banked US$ 94,264 after the three remaining players agreed to split the remaining prize money, a payout that landed above both the official champion’s and third-place finisher’s shares.

The tournament drew 820 entries and comfortably beat the advertised guarantee. Cavalieri was the only Brazilian at the final table. Felipe Baraky and Gabriel Tavares, the two other Brazilians who had been in the late stages, were eliminated just before the finalist bubble burst.

The run adds to a strong stretch for Cavalieri, who recently won the Grand High Roller at BSOP Winter. That victory was one of the biggest titles of his career, and the GGMasters cash gives him another high-stakes result on the online side.

Payout breakdown after the three-way agreement

Mundo Poker reported the final three as “Walybali” in first, Cavalieri in second and “DutchMountain” in third. The actual payouts, however, did not follow the finishing order.

| Official finish | Player | Reported payout |
| 1st | “Walybali” | US$ 92,002 |
| 2nd | Pedro Cavalieri | US$ 94,264 |
| 3rd | “DutchMountain” | US$ 92,278 |

The gap between the official result and the money is a direct effect of the three-handed deal. According to Mundo Poker, the final phase was long, and “DutchMountain” staged a strong chip recovery before the three players decided to split the remaining prize pool.

How a deal changes the story

Deals at final tables are common in high-stakes tournaments. Players calculate expected value based on current stacks, remaining payouts and ICM pressure, then agree on a distribution that often does not match the eventual finishing order. For players who use tournament results to track performance or compare poker rooms, this matters: a first-place badge does not automatically mean the biggest cash prize.

The practical check is to compare reported payouts, not finishing positions. In this case, the player officially listed in second place took home more money than the player listed in first, while the player listed in third was paid more than the official champion as well.

A bigger Brazilian Sunday on GGPoker

Cavalieri’s cash was not the only Brazilian result on the platform that day. João Venturelli finished runner-up in the US$ 525 Bounty Hunters HR Main Event for US$ 103,010, with Felipe Drapichinski taking third for US$ 90,730 and Bernardo Peters fourth for US$ 60,888, as reported by Mundo Poker.

The same report also highlighted the GGMillion$ High Rollers final table scheduled for Tuesday, where six of the nine finalists were Brazilian players, led by Alisson Piekazewicz in the chip count. That context shows GGPoker’s Sunday schedule has become a regular source of deep Brazilian runs, even if Cavalieri’s event was the clearest reminder that final-table deals can rearrange the expected prize distribution.

What remains unclear

Mundo Poker did not disclose the tournament’s total prize pool, the official payout structure before the deal, or the chip counts at the moment the agreement was made. The exact formula used to divide the remaining money is not public. The report also did not include a video replay or hand history from the long three-handed phase, so the strategic details behind the deal are unavailable.

What is confirmed is the reported cash amount for each of the final three players and the fact that the three-way agreement changed which player received the largest payout.
