Gold retains the right to appeal the indefinite suspension.

Crucially, the league found no indication that any other member of the Cardinals organization, including coaches or players, was aware of or involved in Gold’s activities. The NFL’s review involved interviews with relevant parties and a thorough examination of electronic records.

This suspension adds to a history of gambling-related penalties within the NFL. Since 1963, at least 15 players have faced suspensions for gambling violations, with several occurring in recent years. The most recent notable suspension prior to this was for Isaiah Rodgers, then with the Indianapolis Colts, who was also suspended indefinitely in June 2023.
