Station Casinos, a cornerstone of the Las Vegas entertainment landscape, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a significant brand refresh. The company has introduced a new logo and an accompanying campaign, “From Vegas. For Vegas. Always Vegas,” underscoring its enduring commitment to the local community that has supported it since its inception.

A Legacy Rooted in Localism

Founded on July 1, 1976, by Frank Fertitta Jr., Station Casinos began as a modest 5,000-square-foot venue named The Casino. It quickly evolved into Bingo Palace in 1977, later becoming Palace Station in 1984. Throughout its history, the company has deliberately focused on serving Las Vegas locals rather than catering primarily to Strip tourists. This new brand identity aims to keep that core philosophy at the forefront as it looks towards the future.

The New Visual Identity

The redesigned logo draws inspiration from the company’s rich archive, incorporating elements from 1970s Bingo Palace branding, vintage playing cards, casino chips, matchbooks, and classic roadside sign art. A key feature is the return of the Bingo Palace arch, reimagined to create a distinct visual link to the property that eventually transformed into Palace Station.

Working in collaboration with the in-house Station Casinos marketing team, the visual system blends a strong, modern sans-serif typeface with subtle serif details. This approach aims to create a look that is both contemporary and respectful of the brand’s heritage.

Executive Perspective on the Rebrand

Frank Fertitta IV, Executive Vice President of Operations at Station Casinos, shared his thoughts on the milestone and the new branding. “As we celebrate 50 years in Las Vegas, this new logo is a meaningful nod to where we began and the local community that has been part of our story from the start,” he stated. Fertitta IV emphasized that while the brand’s appearance is evolving, the company’s fundamental commitment remains unchanged. “While our brand identity is evolving, our commitment to serving locals with great value, genuine hospitality, and a place to come together for another 50 years remains as strong as ever,” he added.

Anniversary Celebrations Extend Beyond the Logo

The 50th-anniversary festivities extend far beyond the unveiling of a new logo. Station Casinos has launched a comprehensive campaign that includes broadcast advertisements, engaging social media activations, interactive photo booths, and specially designed custom merchandise. To mark the occasion, the company has also organized a series of fireworks displays. Palace Station hosted an inaugural anniversary fireworks event, with additional displays planned for the Fourth of July at six of its larger properties.

Current Portfolio and Future Outlook

Today, Station Casinos operates seven casino resorts across Southern Nevada, including prominent venues like Durango, Red Rock Resort, and Green Valley Ranch. The company also manages the popular Wildfire and Seventy Six tavern brands. To allow guests to partake in the anniversary milestone, a limited 50th-anniversary collection of casino chips, Boarding Pass cards, and retail merchandise is available as a keepsake.
